Out of control bushfires are sweeping across the state – destroying thousands of hectares, houses, and lives.
These fires, heatwaves, and droughts are not just unprecedented – they’re the direct result of decades of climate destruction at the hands of fossil fuel loving politicians. The climate crisis has compounded hundreds of years of land mismanagement since invasion and decades of profiteering on water which has left much of the country in drought.
We demand the government
– Pay all firefighters and give the force full funding.
– Provide genuine relief and aid for affected communities
– Begin the immediate rapid transition away from fossil fuels.
-A just transition for workers in fossil fuel industries with a jobs guarantee
-Justice for First Nations communities – land and water sovereignty
Join Uni Students for Climate Justice to speak out in the city to stand in solidarity with affected communities but to also place the blame on the people that deserve it – Scott Morrison, Gladys Berijiklian and the rest of the politicians!
