It is the ‘Canary in Adani’s Coalmine’ – the perfect symbol of the species extinction threatened on our world by the rampant expansion of fossil fuels.

In the last vote, the Black Throated Finch wasn’t even on the list of options. Despite this, it was ‘WRITTEN IN’ so frequently, it DEFEATED other birds on the list!
In response, Guardian Australia has ELEVATED the finch to the main voting list. This should MAGNIFY its vote enough to finish in the TOP 5 BIRDS based on previous voting. NOW, with an ACTIVE CAMPAIGN behind it, we will ensure we elect the Black Throated Finch as a NATIONAL SYMBOL and GENERATE POWERFUL MEDIA around ADANI’S WANTON DESTRUCTION of our land and unique species and ecologies.
