The big four banks continue to lend billions to fossil fuel projects that are fueling the unprecedented fire season Australia is currently facing. It’s just not good enough.
Come along to stand up in support of bank customers who will be shutting their accounts and climate change-impacted community members on March 20, 8am at Westpac head office, 275 Kent St, CBD.
We’ll start at Westpac, the bank that has sunk $4.5 billion into fossil fuels since committing to uphold the Paris Climate goals and the bank that is due to update its climate policy in just a couple months time. Then we will head to branches across the city, so that no matter what bank you are with, you can send a powerful message calling on them to stop lending to coal, oil and gas.
