On Monday the 7th of October, on the evening after the first day of actions, we will be holding an extremely disruptive ‘opening ceremony’ blockade in the heart of the city. This will be a great introduction to Extinction Rebellion and our tactics to the people of Melbourne. We will show the public what we are about and how we plan to change the game on the climate crisis.
No more boring talks and single day protests, that time is over. We will have performances from the Arts groups, Music from prominent local bands, and all while blocking this main street to bring our message to the government in a grand act of civil disobedience.
Meet at base camp in Carlton Gardens at 4PM and we will march to the road block together and arrive at Flinders around 5PM. Come along and make some friends, make some noise, and make the government hear our demands!
