Protest #2: Sack Scomo & Make the climate criminals pay! (Melbourne)

The bushfire crisis isn’t going away – We need to keep up the pressure!

Uni Students for Climate Justice is organising rolling demonstrations for January in Melbourne, to demand real action on climate change and justice for the communities devastated by the fires.

These fires are the result of decades of climate destruction at the hands of fossil fuel industry and their mates in Canberra.

We demand the government:
– Put a levy on fossil fuel companies – they must pay for the crisis they’ve created!
#SackScomo and every other coal loving politician!
– Pay all firefighters, fund the fire departments properly, and provide genuine relieve and aid to affected communities.
– Immediately begin a rapid transition away from Fossil Fuels

Join Uni Students for Climate Justice at this demonstration to stand in solidarity with affected communities and place the blame on the people that deserve it – Scott Morrison, Daniel Andrews, and every other politician supporting the fossil fuel industry!

We acknowledge that our protest is taking place on the stolen land of the Kulin Nations and we pay our respects to their elders past, present, and emerging. We stand in solidarity with indigenous people in their fight against the ongoing genocide, theft and mismanagement of land, and fight for climate justice.
