The climate crisis is here. Mega-fires are raging across NSW and Victoria – over 700 homes have been destroyed and 6 people have tragically been killed. Huge blazes have occurred in WA
with more predicted to come.
ScoMo’s response has been criminal, leaving behind underfunded and overworked firies to fight the mega-blazes while going on paid holiday to Hawaii. Since returning under pressure, he’s refused to give firefighters more funding. Meanwhile, the Labor Party has doubled down on it’s support for fossil fuels.
For decades, governments have denied the climate crisis, and overseen the expansion of coal, gas, and oil. All the while, fire and other public services have received massive funding cuts. Now the result is here: unprecedented drought, bushfires, and now a massive health crisis, with millions choking on smoke.
Join us on January 10 to demand the government
– Pay all firefighters and give the force full funding.
– Provide genuine relief and aid for affected communities
– Begin the immediate rapid transition away from fossil fuels.
