We’re back! Once again, we are raising awareness about the climate emergency locally.
We will be near the fountain at Hornsby Westfield. This week it will be on Saturday the 1st at 11:30am to 1pm, but we will do it weekly.
We have watched the unprecedented bush fires rip through Australia. The situation could not be more clear. The scientists and fire fighters all agree, this is a climate emergency. It is up to us to take a stand and demand action from all levels of government.
We will be encouraging participation in the next council protest. Council must declare a climate emergency. So far, they have failed us. We must take a stand and demand better. It is more than a symbolic gesture. The original motion included ‘A report be submitted to Council outlining our emission reduction pathway’ and ‘Write to the State and Federal Members of Parliament calling on them to declare a climate emergency and undertake immediate action.’
