Keep the pressure on! Following the protest on January 10th (CBR Protest: Sack Scomo, Fund the firies, climate action now), come to the follow-up protest! 5:30pm, Friday 17th January, Garema Place.
We’ll be having a second protest action in Garema Place to keep the pressure on. Morrison is trying to worm his way out of criticism, announcing a donation of masks to the ACT (weeks after we’ve all been exposed to toxic smoke), and hiring extra equipment. Missing is any genuine commitments to expand the firefighting force, pay the firefighters so we’re not relying on a volunteer service, and importantly, HAS REFUSED TO TAKE ANY ACTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE.
We can’t let him worm his way out – he should be sacked, and the political establishment should be shaken by thousands of people making the Prime Minister’s continued political existence untenable.
