Save our koalas and their forest homes
BREAKING NEWS:
The Australian Government has now officially listed koalas as an endangered species in Queensland, New South Wales, and the Australian Capital Territory.
Without stronger protection, koala populations along our east coast are on a very slippery slope towards extinction. They urgently need your help.
Koalas are a symbol of Australia and these sleepy, branch-hugging marsupials are dependent on trees for food and shelter. But with an average 100,000 trees bulldozed across Australia each day, koalas now face extinction in east coast states by 2050.
They are now at a critical crossroad as they also face threats from deadly disease and climate disasters. Their populations are still recovering from the devastating 2019-20 bushfires, which killed more than 6,000 in NSW alone.
There’s no time left to lose.
Adopting a koala today will help turn this tragedy around by protecting them against Chlamydia that’s decimating populations, upscaling the capacity of wildlife hospitals to ensure koalas can receive the care they need, and by protecting and restoring their forest homes.
Your generosity will be a sign of your support for conservation and animal advocacy, ensuring our iconic koalas remain part of our environment forever. And for each koala you assist, you’ll also help hundreds of other species as well as teaching younger generations about the importance of conservation.
How your donation helps vulnerable koalas
By adopting a koala today, you ensure wildlife carers and medical facilities can care for sick, injured and vulnerable koalas; create wildlife corridors to help them move around safely; and protect their forest homes for the long-term.
