Come join us at the office of BHP for a ‘dress rehearsal’ for the blockade of the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC).
On the 28-31 of October, Melbourne will host IMARC, Australia’s biggest gathering of climate criminals. Companies in attendance profit from fueling the climate emergency, destruction of Indigenous lands, displacing people, driving animal extinction and the exploitation of workers.
BHP is Australia’s biggest coal producer and one of the many climate vandals attending IMARC this year. Some of their crimes include
– Operating the Cerrejón coal mine in Colombia, the 10th largest mine in the world. This mine has polluted the water and destroyed fertile land, causing malnutrition and death in the region.
– Threatening Traditional Custodians over land
– Leading the way on destructive exploratory practices such as offshore drilling and hydrochloric fracturing
On October 11 as part of the Spring Rebellion we plan to disrupt the office of BHP in preparation for the blockade.
Start your morning with a bit of activism before work and help us send the message to BHP and other climate vandals that we are coming for them.
