Without a stable climate, crops will fail, people will starve.
This is the risk we face if our government fails to act on the climate crisis.
Following the success of our last local action – we are staging another.
Join us for a die in near the Fresh Food Court at Knox Shopping Centre. We will lie amongst the abundance of food we enjoy today to highlight that it might be gone in the future. We want our government to choose life by taking immediate action on the climate crisis.
The die-in is a form of non-violent protest. Demonstrators lay on the ground ‘as if dead’, in order to demonstrate that our current situation is threatening humanity.
Please meet outside Australia Post in Knox Shopping Centre. We will have sign for you to die with but feel free to make your own if you wish.
Our demands:
– The government must tell the truth about the climate and ecological crisis.
– It must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.
– The process of change must be led by a citizen’s assembly on climate and ecological justice.
