They did it at Glastonbury! They’ve done it on Euro beaches! Now it’s our turn!
Extinction Rebellion has well and truly landed in Sydney and we want the community to get to know us for who we are!
Extinction Rebellion Bondi Beach and Extinction Rebellion Sydney are inviting the extended Extinction Rebellion community and anyone concerned with the climate emergency to form the shape of a huge hourglass on iconic Bondi Beach.
The hourglass symbolises the threat of extinction. As we live through the sixth mass extinction, and as governments repeatedly fail to act, it is our duty to rebel in peace.
We will create a beautiful, peaceful spectacle for passers-by, social media and the broader community to raise awareness about the climate emergency.
There will be creative actions, speakers, photographers / drone pilots and information for anyone curious about Extinction Rebellion.
We want the community to know that we are emphatically nonviolent, every day citizens across all social strata who are desperately concerned not just for future generations but the current generation of children.
Join us for a morning on the beach, for the planet!

ARRIVAL: Participants to meet at the operations table to be ushered into place on the hourglass symbol.
IN CASE OF BIG WEATHER: We will continue with the action if it’s overcast or chilly. Check this invite on the morning of the action to ensure we are going ahead in the event of big weather.
