Blockade IMARC 2019 (Melbourne)

Blockade IMARC 2019 is a mass civil disobedience action at the biggest fossil fuel and mining industry conference in Australia.

IMARC: The International Mining and Resources Conference features companies and individuals such as

  • Adani\’s rail line builder, the Calibre group
  • Federal Resources Minister Matt Canavan, who recently blasted companies that refuse to do business with Adani as \”a bunch of bedwetters\” and \”weak as piss\”
  • Australia\’s biggest coal company, BHP
  • Major coal profiteers such as Glencore, Yancoal and Anglo American
  • Mining companies such as Fortescue, Rio Tinto, Newcrest and Resolute mining, whose mines have been developed through the dispossession of Indigenous people in Australia and around the world.

The actions of companies at IMARC drive climate change, worker exploitation, animal extinction and environmental destruction.

The protest: A broad coalition of groups has come together to blockade IMARC. With the climate entering meltdown, it\’s urgent to disrupt the \”business as usual\” of major climate criminals, using mass civil disobedience. We aim to have thousands of people gathering to blockade this conference
