The climate crisis is here.
“Once in a century” floods and fires are now a regular occurrence. Thousands have already been displaced or killed by climate disasters.
Despite all the hot air about a green transition, carbon emissions are predicted to reach a record of 37.5 million tonnes. Fossil fuel investment hasn’t died out – it reached an estimated $4 trillion last year.
Politicians won’t save us. The Albanese government is putting more fuel on the fire by approving 114 new fossil fuel projects, while state governments have responded by criminalising climate protestors.
We need to fight back. Join students around the country in rallying to demand:
1. Shut down the fossil fuel industry – no new fossil fuel projects
2. Tax the rich to fund a just transition to renewables and reparations for victims of climate disasters
3. Stop the expansion of oil and gas drilling – stop Scarborough and Beetaloo basin projects
4. Land rights now – stand with Gomeroi people, stop Santos project in Narrabri
5. Stop the repression of climate protestors
