We all know by now that lockdown can be personally challenging and this also applies to activism and how we can engage and continue to make a difference when we can’t get out onto the streets and meet up and organise with fellow rebels. Here is something you can do.
Independent MP Zali Stegall’s Climate Change Bill 2020, will go before Parliament again at the next sitting in October. This will be the third time the Bill has been presented, and we want to make sure the third time is the charm! There is a real chance that this could be made into law. A huge show of community support will help get it over the line.
Before 30 September 2021, we would like YOU to write a hard copy letter in support of the Bill and send it to:

These letters will be presented to Zali Stegall at an event at Parliament House.
It does not have to be long or complicated, just tell your local Federal member, or a parliamentarian of your choice, in your own words, how you feel about the climate emergency and why this Bill must be passed. You could get your kids to draw a picture, cover it with dolphin stickers and lipstick kisses, or be all scientific and serious if you want. Feel free to be as creative (or not) as you wish. The letter can be from an individual or on behalf of a group. Sample letters are on the website to give you some ideas.
