JOIN US FOR ‘WALK THIS WAY’ 2019 – SAT 9 NOV:
Polluting corporations and extractive industries are causing the climate crisis. They’re leaving our communities exposed to intensifying heatwaves, droughts, bushfires, and rising sea levels.
The need to transform our democratic, economic, energy, and food systems has never been more urgent.
While some governments have shirked their responsibility and refuse to tackle the climate crisis, incredible courage and leadership can be seen at the community level. It’s communities who are setting the example for what system change can look like. And it’s communities who are leading the push for climate justice.
It’s this community leadership that will be the focus of Friends of the Earth’s Walk This Way in 2019.
Join us on a sponsored walk on Saturday 9 November along 15km of Melbourne’s Merri Creek Trail to help Friends of the Earth Melbourne continue as a powerhouse of grassroots activism in Victoria.
Getting Involved is simple!

It takes just a few minutes and an initial contribution of $15 to activate your personal profile to start fundraising.
2. Get Sponsored:
Ask your friends, your family, your neighbours to sponsor you for your walk.
3. Spread the Word:
Invite others to sign up and Walk This Way with us – a journey is always better shared!
4. Get Walking:
You can be part of the whole 15km walk or you’ll be able to join Walk This Way at a number of meeting points along the trail.
This event will take place on the lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nations. We acknowledge this land was stolen, and that sovereignty was never ceded.
