Today let’s dance on Flinders Street, near the State Administration Centre. Let’s dance through the fear of the coming climate crisis.
We hold up traffic to disrupt business as usual. Life as we know it will change over the next decades. A little delay in traffic is a small discomfort compared to what the future will hold.
We are meeting in front of the Pilgrim Uniting Church before swarming.
Optional dress: finest disco attire, yeah baby
We have a short time to change complex socio-economic systems and governments and media are not being honest with us, their citizens.
That’s why rebels are swarming/dancing (with a chance of arrest) across Flinders Street – to demand the SA Government Tell the Truth.
The people of South Australia will need to adapt to higher temperatures; flooding waters; droughts; diseases and whatever situation the changes in climate may bring. How will our infrastructure hold up? Is the housing being built today going to be climate resilient in the future? Are communities preparing?
Rebels not swarming/dancing are welcome in other roles, including lining Flinders Street holding signs (non-arrestable).
If you wish to swarm you must complete our Conscientious Protector training and be a member of an affinity group

In March this year, XRSA delivered a Declaration of Demands to the South Australian parliament, The Advertiser, and to the Premier of South Australia. Our demands are:
– The government must tell the truth about the climate and ecological crisis.
– The government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.
– The process of change must be led by a citizen’s assembly on climate and ecological justice.
